Maker Faire to present on the State of San Diego Innovation
Mark your calendars! Maker Faire San Diego takes place this weekend, Saturday October 1-Sunday October 2 in Balboa Park.
What is Maker Faire?
Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue to for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects.
Where can I expect to see I.D.E.A. District at the Faire?
Be sure to check out the the presentation on the State of San Diego Innovation! It will feature a panel of speakers (including our very own David Malmuth), who will focus on San Diego’s start-up community, education, the roots of San Diego innovation and more. The presentation will wrap up with an audience Q&A session. The goal is to stage an informed conversation among passionately engaged leaders that will illuminate the current status of the San Diego region’s (including Tijuana) evolving innovation story.
Why focus on “the State of San Diego Innovation”?
Regions that attract and retain the individuals and companies that invent the future will thrive, while those that don’t will struggle. This broad narrative is generally accepted, but the specific elements that drive our ability to compete, and win, on a world stage are less well understood. The intent of this conversation is to educate, and entertain, by describing how innovation in San Diego is constantly evolving and finding new forms of expression.
